Nickel Communications Helps Clients Grab Recognition in 2016 EdTech Digest Awards Program
Atlanta – March 18, 2016 – Nickel Communications, an Atlanta-based public relations firm, is proud to announce that six of its clients have been recognized as “cool tools” and educational leaders by the 2016 EdTech Digest Awards Program. The distinguished national awards program seeks to highlight and celebrate the most effective products and the most innovative and inspiring people in the education technology field.
The EdTech Digest Awards Program consists of three major award categories, each with multiple subcategories: Cool Tool Awards, Leadership Awards and Trendsetter Awards. Four Nickel clients are finalists: Whooo’s Learning (formerly Learn2Earn), Mimio, the Virtual High School and Achieve3000 (in two categories). A fifth client, Edthena, is an award winner in the Best Professional Development Learning Solution, category.

The other finalists are also in the Cool Tools category. The MimioMobile app from Mimio is a finalist in the middle school and high school subcategory. The Space Station Academy online science course from The Virtual High School is a finalist in the STEM solution subcategory. The Whooo’s Learning reading motivation platform, is a finalist in the subcategory for best new product or service. The Edthena video coaching platform for classroom observation is the Cool Tool winner in the professional development learning solution subcategory.
The Cool Tool awards were awarded after a distinguished panel of industry influencers and veterans conducted this year’s evaluation proceedings. “Shining a spotlight on the best and the brightest in the EdTech space reminds me of the tremendous paradigm shift our industry is experiencing. The evidence of technology’s transformative effect on matters of learning for students and educators, is so energizing,” said Victor Rivero, who oversees the program as Editor-in-Chief of EdTech Digest. “This year’s program had some very stiff competition and hard decisions were made in selecting the winners.
